First day in the "Homeland"

Some unexpected problem with the Hebrew keyboard so we stick to English...
The moment the clock passed midnight, things started to get better. The flight was shorter than expected, the suitcases were waiting for us, quick taxi with no traffic from the airport and by 10 am we were already kissing Savta.

A long day (with jet leg) , we started (beginners Warsaw) in the old colorful city, we found Ely's friends from Rosh Haayin crowded in a KFC next to a huge mall. After a short rest we visited the Ghetto (or the few monuments that stand to remind us of it). We followed the Heroism trail from The Mered monument all the way to Kikar Hashiluach (I know Rivka, it's the wrong order)

We were amazed to see this horrible place where hundreds of thousands of Jews were sent to their death, as a simple monument in the middle of a plain streets with cars, buildings and people going about their business...
The next stop was The Jewish theater (very active), the church that served the Jews in the ghetto who tried to become Christians, and the only synagogue that survived this war.

We ate some very good Italian(...) food but also tried some Polish cabbage Kreplach and had cabbage served on the same plate in 3 different forms...

Tomek will pick us up tomorrow morning for the real adventure. We'll write if we find an Internet connection!
